Transforming the Workplace

The way we work is changing drastically fast. Only two years ago, Gartner reported that "7% of top-performing companies rank Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning as a game-changing technology.” After only a year that figure jumped up to 40%. To understand the benefits of AI for knowledge workers, Microsoft recently placed a study with Forbes Insights and Forrester Consulting. The Forbes Insights, which surveyed just over 350 executives, found that 80% of the respondents recognized that their organizations need to begin mastering the art of human/machine collaboration. The executives highlighted how placing powerful AI applications in the hands of technologically-savvy workers was crucial to productivity and performance success, but only 5% of executives consider their companies to be industry-leading. This is in terms of utilizing AI processes. Although, almost 85% agree that AI streamlines processes, giving a typical employee the opportunity for more creative, intuitive, and competitive thinking.

Amplifying Business Intelligence

AI has become a necessity in the working world for the success of a business. It is incorporated in almost every customer service transaction and is well-implemented in most day to day operations for a typical company. For instance, AI is rapidly transforming different industries such as: healthcare, financial services, and the trading industry. An example in the healthcare industry is that AI is taking the role of clinical assistants in order to help physicians make more efficient and reliable diagnoses of their patients. It is also speeding up the process for discovering new medicine and drugs as well.

Before the advancement of technology. Business leaders were having to make vital decisions based on incomplete and inconsistent data. Today, AI is able to take large amounts of data and break it down into insightful and valuable information for a business leader in just a matter of seconds. For example, it is critical for a marketing manager to understand their customers needs, so that they are able to tailor their product and advertisements to fit those needs. AI gives the marketing manager reliable modeling techniques that accurately portray the consumers persona in the market.

AI is basically the automation of the maximum sequence of decisions that orignate from prescriptive analytics. AI has the ability to give real-time feedback to users as a way to enhance the prescriptive models. The capability of quickly learning and adapting gives AI the power to correctly pursue actions following automated decisions. As AI continues to advance, it will continue to advance in powering effective decision making in the work place.

New AI Engine in the Workplace

The newest AI engine to hit the marketplace is known as Salesforce Einstein. According to Raj Mistry, the Senior VP of Einstein says that part of his job is explaining what AI actually does in the workplace. He explains that the true purpose of AI in the workplace is to provide analytics and business recommendations to leaders in the industry. The new trends of AI have become user-friendly interfaces. Einstein for example, is an AI that is capable of performing a set of services in unison. Many sales positions have found valuable use by incorporating Einstein into their company's software. For example, an American sports retailer called Fanatics.com has benefited greatly from Einstein because the AI is able to transfer inquires from millions of consumers directly to the correct sales channel. Users are able to confirm whether the AI's decision was right or not and then depending on the response, the AI is able to learn and adapt over time. The AI also specializes in image recognition which has proven very beneficial for business leaders in the workplace.

Overtime AI engines will become easier to use and more user-friendly for the everyday person. A program called Satalia offers algorithms capable of solving a variety of issues that take place in the workplace on a daily basis. For example, the AI software is able to help engineers detect any bugs in an offices software. You can voice your problem to the software, similar to how Apples Siri works in their products as well. As more people use the AI program, it will continue to develop and become smarter over time.
